How do I put items on sale in Ribbn

Learn how to manage clearance items using the new Action Card feature in the Ribbn app. This guide walks you through the "Prep for Clearance" process, ensuring a smooth transition for items into clearance while providing best practices for effective seller communication.

New Action Card for Sellers: Managing Clearance Items in the Ribbn App

Sellers now have the ability to put items on sale by moving them to a "Clearance" state. However, seller approval is required to finalize this action. This process is seamlessly managed through the Ribbn app. When an item is prepared for clearance, an Action Card will appear on the seller’s dashboard, prompting them to review and approve the sale.

What is "Prep for Clearance"?

"Prep for Clearance" is the first step in marking items for potential sale at reduced prices. Here’s how the process works:

  1. Product is Listed: Start with an item that is currently listed in the Ribbn app.
  2. Move to "Prep for Clearance": Change the item’s status to "Prep for Clearance."
  3. Seller Notification: Sellers will see an Action Card in their dashboard when an item is in the "Prep for Clearance" state. The card includes details such as the proposed sale price and potential earnings.
  4. Accept or Deny:
    • If accepted, the item moves to the "Clearance" state and, if eligible, displays the new sale price online.
    • If denied, the item is moved to the "Liquidation Requested" state for further action.
  5. Handle Rejected Items: Items rejected for clearance by the seller will move to "Liquidation Requested."
  6. Change to "Liquidation Ready": Merchants should update items to "Liquidation Ready" for sellers to pick them up.

    Important Notes:

No Automated Notifications: Sellers will not receive push notifications or automated emails about the Action Card. Merchants must notify sellers directly within the app.

How to Notify Sellers: Use the Product View in Ribbn to send a direct message to sellers about the clearance suggestion. Example message: "Your item has been suggested for clearance. Please review and take action in the app."

Best Practices for Managing Clearance Items

  1. Use Filters to Identify Clearance Items: Apply filters in the app to locate products that are both listed and marked as "Selected for Clearance" ("yes"). These are the items you’ve previously prepped for clearance.
  2. Communicate Clearly with Sellers: Send timely messages to sellers about the clearance process.

Example email: "Your item is suggested for clearance. You must take action within 10 days to confirm or deny the sale price. Items denied for clearance should be collected within XX days."

  1. Monitor Seller Actions: Follow up with sellers who have not responded to ensure a smooth transition.

This streamlined approach ensures efficient handling of clearance items, providing clarity for both merchants and sellers while maximizing sales opportunities.
