How to handle Sell Requests
Learn how to manage Sell Requests in Ribbn, from reviewing and pricing to confirming selections. Keep your workflow clean with simple best practices for Sell Request hygiene.
Staying on top of Sell Requests is key to a smooth seller experience. Here’s how to manage them efficiently, plus a few tips on keeping your workflow clean.
Where to Find Your Sell Requests
Head to Products > Sell Request.
At the top, you’ll see two tabs: New and Reviewed.
- Under New, you’ll find all incoming requests waiting for your action.
- Each request shows a product information such Primary segment, brand, size etc as well as suggested resale price (based on your local marketplaces, what similar items are selling for on Tradera, Vinted, and others.)
Go through each item and either Accept or Decline.
If you accept, just enter the price you want to resell the item for.
What Happens After You Accept or Decline
When you Accept an item, all you’re doing is changing the products' status to Accepted.
This doesn’t notify the seller — yet.
To notify the seller about your decisions, click Confirm Selection in the top right corner.
This is when the seller gets updated — not when you accept or decline individual products. Instead of sending a notification for each item, Ribbn sends a single update letting the seller know their products have been reviewed. From there, they can head to their app dashboard to see the results and take action on each item in their Sell Request.
So:
- Accept/Decline each item.
This changes the product status. - Click Confirm Selection
That’s when the seller hears from you.
Keeping Your Workflow Clean
Good Sell Request hygiene = fewer mistakes and a better seller experience. Here's what to keep in mind:
-
Use the “Sell Request” filter in Product View
This should stay empty. If there are items here, it means something still needs your attention. -
Found something odd in the “Reviewed” tab?
If you have items in Sell Request state in the Reviewd tab it means sellers still can't see if you have accepted or declined their products in Sell Request. If an item still needs a decision, click the three dots next to the seller and choose Mark as New.
This moves it back to the New tab so you can properly Accept/Decline — and don’t forget to hit Confirm Selection after.
Why It Matters
Keeping your Sell Request flow clean and up to date is a small habit that makes a big difference. It ensures sellers get clear communication and nothing slips through the cracks.
State management is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle in the Ribbn world :)
☝️ Store Hygiene (Pro Tip)
Maintaining clean and up-to-date data in your Sell Request tabs is essential for operational clarity and seller communication.
In the Products tab, you may have a saved bookmark named Sell Request.
The products in this Sell Request Review bookmark should always mirror the Sell Request – New tab in the Sell Request section. This means if the Sell Request – New tab is empty, the Sell Request Review list should also be empty. However, occasionally items can fall through the cracks—so you might still see products with the Sell Request Review status appearing here.
💡Best Practice: Aim to keep this list at zero at all times. This ensures that no seller requests are overlooked.
If you find products lingering in this list, follow these cleanup steps in the correct order:
1. Set a Price
Check if the product still shows a suggested price. If so, review and set a final price accordingly.
2. Message the Sellers
Reach out to the sellers to explain the status update and confirm next steps.
Go to: Actions > Message selected vendors, and send a message like this:
“It looks like your product(s) got missing in the Sell Request process. We’re sorry for the oversight. If you’re still interested in selling them, we’ve now reviewed your request and updated the status in the Ribbn app. Review your products in the app and take any necessary actions. Thank you! – The [Your Brand] Team”
3. Move the Status
Update the product’s status as appropriate (Accepted or Rejected). If your Sell Request Review bookmark is filtered by status, changing the status will automatically remove the product from this list—so make sure this step is done last.
